 BASIC INFO:

Here is few informations and importand things about places visited in our trip.

Like first and in Cuba very importand thing i want to write something about money.

In Cuba they have double currency, one is Peso Convertible aka CUC whitch is fixed to US Dollar and another is Peso Cubano aka Moneda Nacional. Exchange rate was:

  •  1:1   USD to CUC
  •  1:25 CUC to Cuban Peso
  •  1:1,4 EUR to CUC

U can find actual rates here:

Peso Convertible you can buy in banks or CADECA change branches and you gona use it for everything. Peso Cubano you can buy in bank and use it on small fruit markets or for cuban drinks on the street. Cubans get their wages in Peso cubano and average income is around 300 Peso Cubano/12 CUC.

 IMPORTAND:

To Cuba take with you CASH, CASH, CASH and CASH and only like backup in emergency your VISA card. Nothing else like MasterCard or Debit Cards are unsupported. Let your bank know about your trip to Cuba otherwise they can easly block your card and you can stay in very bad situation because there is not a much ways how to send money to Cuba. Western Union money transfer does not work in Cuba...

Thanks to Slovak Embassy in Havana for their help.

Cuba is Safe country thanx to heavy police controls. Dont' be affraid, police dont' bother you. They are on the streets to control cubans not you.. On some beaches and big cities you have to be a bit more carefour but is not that bad like in other Latin America countries.
